I was born in Loxton, South Australia, in 1964. I am married to Denise and we have three beautiful girls - Cindi , Amber and Madelyn. I have wanted to be a signwriter as long as I can remember, even at primary school I can recall watching our local writer and his sons after school, as their sign shop was on my way home. I use to call in quite often and just watch in awe, especially when they started airbrushing. I was just amazed. I think I would have only been about 7 years old and from that time on I would just draw all the time. Right through my school years I really put all of my effort into drawing and painting (and not much effort into the other subjects) and this ended up being my strength.

After being told that they "didn’t need me anymore" at school I had several jobs from fruit block work through to being a welder, all the time having my dream of becoming a signwriter.

When I was seventeen my job as a welder finished as the factory had to shut down. I took a big step and decided to start my own Sign Shop as it was still my passion. I think I brought a couple of brushes, some paint and started doing race cars and licence plates and any sign job I could manage to find and that was how I started in this crazy job.

I am totally self taught, with no formal training or trade schooling. Everything I have done from basic lettering to custom signs, airbrush work and murals, gold leaf both loose and transfer, sand blasting, pin striping and truck scrolls, advertising on grass at football grounds and golf greens (signwriting onto the lawn), screen printing, foam letters and all the other general signage work we get to do and even this computer thing, has been just what I've picked up along the way.

Airbrushing has always been high on my agenda as I love adding in airbrushed fades, then highlights here and there. Then I started adding artwork into my signs. Soon my work looked different from everyone else and I had my own style going. As time went on I began painting Murals big and small, which lead to me doing just about anything that came in the door.

I have attended nine Australian Letterhead meets and in 1998 I hosted the Annual Australian Letterhead meet at my shop in Loxton SA. This was a great success with over one hundred signwriters and airbrush artists attending from all over Australia and also America. I have also attended two American Letterhead meets, the first was after doing murals in Canada on my way home a fly into Alabama for the 2001 Dixi meet and also in 2005 for the International meet in Mazeppa.

I have also attended a few Australian Sign & Airbrush Expos in Sydney, where I held seminars on Airbrushed signs and artwork. As well as the Seminars I held Airbrush workshops at the Expos. I have also won many awards at these expos for my Signs & airbrush works. I have attended a few other airbrush events in Victoria as well as attending and co-hosting Airbrush panel jams.

I have travelled all over Australia to my work and In 2001 I was commissioned to do Murals in Winnapeg, Manatoba Canada. In 2005 I was one of the Project Leaders at the 30th International Letterhead meet held in Mazeppa, Minnesota U.S.A.

Some of my interests, apart from my wife and girls are water skiing, motorbikes (I used to race motorcross and speedway), my 1928 A Model Ford Coupe Hot Rod and the beach trying to surf.

In July 2007 we moved to the Sunshine Coast to live and also made the decision to change the direction of my business and concentrate on my Airbrushing. Over the years My Airbrush work was dominating my work load so we moved to Queensland and started my new business… EAST COAST AIRBRUSHING.

I still fly all over the country doing work for clients that want my touch but now base myself on the Sunshine Coast doing Airbrushed Art, Graphics, and custom paint jobs.
